Our Founding Story
The Habitarium originally began as a homeschooling project for our girls. It sprouted from a simple curiosity about reptiles and amphibians, gradually blossoming into a genuine passion for nature and the environment. Our journey into the natural world exposed us to the circle of life, sparking our desire to create our first habitat.
The excitement of delving into an unfamiliar arid desert ecosystem and welcoming a new family member, Lemon the bearded dragon, was exhilarating. However, our enthusiasm didn't stop there. We integrated this experience into our school science curriculum and introduced new companions, the tiny Isopods.
As we immersed ourselves in the study of Isopods, we were captivated by the diversity of species. This fascination compelled us to expand our collection, constantly seeking more. The allure of these creatures was so powerful that we found ourselves drawn deeper into their world.
